Celebrate bonfire night

Nothing says autumn like a dazzling fireworks display lighting up the night sky, so make sure you join us on 2 November for Bonfire Night! With dinner, coffee from Nespresso around the fire pit and live music in the bars until late, you can be sure of a night to remember. Available to hotel residents only.

Go on a walk

Autumn is the perfect time for a nature walk, with stunning scenery and wildlife to spot, including deer. From Ashridge to Whippendell Wood, there are plenty of great walks on our doorstep. It’s also conker season, so for those of you with kids, make collecting them a fun activity as you explore the countryside together.

Visit a pumpkin patch

It’s the ultimate activity to keep little ones occupied this season, and there are plenty of spots in the area where you can pick your own, including at Willow’s Activity Farm. New for October half term, we’ll have our very own pumpkin patch popping up in the Walled Garden where kids can choose their favourites before decorating them in the Potting Shed. Available to hotel residents only.

Enjoy a warming seasonal meal

Autumn is all about hearty, seasonal flavours, and our new menus at The Stables are the perfect way to experience them. Let us take care of the cooking (and the washing up!) while you indulge in the rich, warming dishes of the season. The slow-cooked lamb shank with mustard mash has our vote!

Cosy up by the fire

As the nights draw in, there’s no better way to relax than curling up in front of a roaring fire with a hot chocolate in hand (our Lounges are home to numerous cosy spots!). As the flames crackle away, you could enjoy reading a few chapters of a book, immerse yourself in the latest Netflix series, or spend time catching up with a loved one.

Bake an autumn dessert

At this time of year, nothing beats the delicious smell of cinnamon and nutmeg wafting through the air. Even better is the taste of the seasonal spices in freshly baked desserts. Use this time to get creative in the kitchen and treat family and friends to a homemade delight, like our Executive Pastry Chef Ryan’s pumpkin pie.

Soak up the autumn season on our leafy 300 acres. Book a stay here.
