Dining at The Grove

The Glasshouse

The Glasshouse sits at the heart of The Grove and offers a vibrant dining experience that encompasses it’s ‘estate to plate’ ethos. Following renovations by award-winning designer Martin Hulbert, the restaurant’s striking interiors now feature a vast triple-height glass conservatory framing beautiful garden views. A fusion of culture and provenance, expect internationally inspired dishes that make the most of the hotel’s very own produce from Jemima’s Kitchen Garden.

The Stables

The Stables menu is distinctly British and uses personally sourced producers so every ingredient has a story to tell – and you can read the provenance on our menu. The chefs follow the seasons and believe in low food miles, especially with ample fresh-picked produce from The Grove’s Walled Garden. Head Chef, Andrew Parkinson comments: “To know and trust the person who dives for our scallops in Scotland, or Daphne in Wales who raises her lambs, or the folks who make small-batch goats cheese at Wobbly Bottom Farm, is second to none.” With it’s large outdoor terrace offering views of the golf course, The Stables Bar is the perfect place to enjoy relaxed drinks and light snacks in the warmer months.

Sequoia Spa

The award winning Sequoia spa features a stunning black mosaic-tiled pool, sauna, steam room and heat experience rooms. There’s a wide range of specialist treatment options by highly trained specialists, all of which use carefully selected products from luxury skincare ranges. Facilities include a state-of-the-art fitness studio, exercise classes and customised personal training plans to provide a holistic experience for the mind and body.

Bio: Executive Head Chef Stephen Wheeler

Executive head chef, Stephen Wheeler, launched The Glasshouse to much success when The Grove opened just over 15 years ago. Having spent many years overseas gaining widespread international experience, he returned to the helm of The Glasshouse to re-open an elevated, contemporary restaurant in 2019.

Stephen lived in Asia for several years, leading some of the best restaurants including Six Senses Laamu, Constance Moofushi and The Sun Siyam Irufushi. Wheeler has drawn upon the region’s focus on fresh, seasonal produce to introduce a range of new dishes and cooking techniques to The Glasshouse.

Upon the relaunch, Stephen commented: “It brings me great pleasure to oversee the relaunch of The Glasshouse, and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase this new, innovative dining experience to guests. We’ve introduced so many new cooking stations and methods, as it was crucial to us that we provide guests with a fantastic range of options at a superior quality. It’s an interactive and fun way of eating.”

Bio: The Glasshouse Head Chef Luke Reeves

Head Chef Luke Reeves’ career includes stints at Babington House and in The Maldives where he met Executive Head Chef, Stephen Wheeler, who invited him to join the team at The Grove. He worked alongside Stephen on the remodeling of The Glasshouse, ensuring the restaurant delivered a unique culinary experience for guests. His focus is on using truly seasonal, quality ingredients from the hotel’s kitchen garden to make creative, internationally influenced dishes.

Bio: Spa Director Kirsty MacCormick

Spa Director, Kirsty MacCormick has a vast, impressive career within the beauty and spa industry. After training in beauty therapy and launching her own business, she decided to go into spa management with Hilton in Edinburgh before moving to Champneys Spa to look after operations and training.

It was there she was headhunted for the new Mandarin Oriental Spa in Tokyo, which won six awards including Spa of the World. She was then promoted to oversee all the Chinese-speaking hotels, moving to Bangkok to open 20 hotels, in Asia and internationally.

Upon moving back to the UK, Kirsty managed the £8m refit for St Andrews Old Course, opened her own eco nail salon brand in Edinburgh, The Nail Yard, before joining the team at The Grove in 2019.

Kirsty also works closely with BABTAC, acts as a judge for Professional Beauty, who named her one of the Top 100 influencers in spas in the UK.
