Next, we made our way over to Anouska’s kids’ pool which can be accessed through the Walled Garden’s Potting Shed. We love how there’s a swimming space just for the little ones, away from the hustle and bustle of the main hotel.
We had such a wonderful time at The Grove. From the moment we arrived to when we handed our key back our experience as a family was quite unlike any other. It was the perfect break we all needed, made even more special by the team’s boundless warmth and generosity.
The hotel lies in 300 acres of stunning countryside which makes it hard to believe it’s so close to London. We were very impressed with the surroundings – the gardens were so peaceful and the grounds were never-ending! We went to explore the woodlands first which felt like something out of a fairy tale. It was really quite enchanting. As we walked, the kids had fun playing with the hand-crafted musical instruments dotted around the musical trail.

While we were in the area we made the most of the games room in the Potting Shed. There were activities, arts and crafts for kids of all ages (even tea and coffee for the adults), lots of lovely board games and even a racing car simulator which went down a treat with Adam!
For dinner we ate at The Stables restaurant which we’d recommend with kids as the atmosphere is very relaxed. They recently launched new autumn/winter menus which had some really great options. Adam had the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, and the kids had plenty of favourites to choose from including cheese and tomato pasta and mini fish and chips.
The following morning we awoke well-rested in our West Wing bedroom. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with a garden view and it fit our little family of four perfectly. The room was so spacious with a gorgeous outlook over the grounds, making it perfect for in-room dining, enjoyed by all as you can see!
Before we checked out we made sure to say hello to The Grove’s falcons, eagles and other beautiful birds of prey on The Glasshouse terrace. Grant was so knowledgeable about each bird and was really great with the kids. It was a truly magnificent and special experience for everyone and would definitely recommend other families to book in when they stay.
