How to Spend a Day in the Walled Garden 23 June 2022

Step through the brick arch gate into our tranquil Walled Garden, tucked away from the sights of the main hotel. This hidden gem is the perfect escape on a summer’s day for our hotel residents. With plenty to do for all ages, and dining options for all tastes, take a look at our itinerary to help you make the most of it.

10.00am

After a slow-paced breakfast at the Glasshouse, or in bed if you prefer, wander over to the Walled Garden for a morning tennis session with Lux Tennis Professional, Ryan. If you don’t fancy a lesson, you can book a court to enjoy a game with your companions at your leisure.

12pm

If you’ve worked up a bit of an appetite, the aromas from The Grove Grill will tempt you across the garden. Choose from a selection of grilled meats, fish and vegetables, and our homemade sides and dips, plus daily barbecue specials. For dessert, save room for freshly made waffles and Jude’s ice cream!

1pm

Find yourself a sunny spot by our outdoor pool to relax and soak up some rays. Want to hit the beach without the stress of the airports? Ralph’s Beach is our best kept secret. If you have kids in tow, they’ll be kept busy building sandcastles or playing games on the activity lawn.

3pm

Grab a cold drink from the gazebo and take this opportunity to stretch your legs with a stroll around the garden. Jemima’s Kitchen Garden is especially beautiful this time of year, with bright, colourful summer fruits and vegetables blossoming everywhere you turn.

4pm

If you’re joining us with little ones, take advantage of our matinée screenings at the Everyman Secret Garden cinema. At 4pm each day, the big screen will light up with the likes of Moana, Harry Potter, Disney’s Aladdin and plenty of other family favourites, all to be enjoyed in magical surroundings.

7pm

Spend your evening in Italy at our summer pop-up Italian restaurant Verde Kitchen. Take a seat and choose from a range of freshly made pasta and pizza inspired by Neapolitan cuisine. When the sun is shining, you’ll be dining alfresco on the Tyrrhenian coastline!

8pm

If you didn’t attend the matinee showing earlier on, the screen at Everyman Secret Garden will be lighting up once more. Enjoy a film under the stars and revel in the latest Hollywood blockbusters and iconic classics.

The Walled Garden is open to hotel residents over the summer from 10am to 9pm daily.
