- Things To Do
Arguably the most romantic celebration of the year, Valentine’s Day gets us feeling all loved-up and full of appreciation for our other halves. To help inspire your celebrations, we’ve put together a Valentine’s itinerary to ensure it’s the most memorable one yet…
The Grove is the ideal spot for couples who wish for a tranquil escape in the peaceful surroundings of nature, with the option of injecting a little adrenaline into the stay with the vast choice of outdoor pursuits on offer.
This year, revel in our Valentine’s Retreat – a gloriously romantic way to spend Valentine’s weekend. You’ll arrive to our traditional 18th Century Mansion (regrettably not by horse and carriage) where you’ll be whisked away to your room, finding a complimentary bottle of Champagne to help you kick-start your Valentine’s getaway. Then, tiptoe down to Sequoia where the relaxation truly begins. Take a dip in our mosaic-lined swimming pool or treat your other half to one of our indulgent spa treatments – the possibilities are endless!
When you feel suitably preened and pampered, step into your evening wear and drift down either to The Stables, where you will be treated to a delightful three-course dinner, or to The Glasshouse, where you can enjoy a romantic feast accompanied by music in the bar and a DJ playing until midnight on Saturday 12 February. We’ll also have a special Oyster bar station to set the mood and a delicious variety of Valentine’s desserts to tickle your taste buds. Rose and mascarpone choux, anyone?
After all the chocolate-dipped strawberries have been consumed, 0ur bar staff have shaken up some extra special Valentine’s cocktails just for you! (Cupid’s Kiss is our personal favourite…) Alternatively, retire to the quirky yet luxurious surroundings of the Lounges for a nightcap. When you’re ready to retreat to your bedroom, our romantic turndown service will be waiting for you…
The following morning, awake to the sound of birds chirping on the branch outside your window, signalling the start of another wonderful day. Untangle yourself from your bedsheets and head out into the fresh air (after breakfast in bed, of course!) to enjoy the many outdoor pursuits The Grove has to offer. Take a stroll together (or a Segway) down Asher’s Woodland Trails, or embrace some healthy competition with a round of golf on our Championship course. If the weather has other plans, however, getting cosy and indulging in an intimate Afternoon Tea in the Lounges would be a perfectly agreeable alternative!
Book a Valentine’s Retreat
Our sister hotels are also hosting romantic Valentine’s Stay, so if you’d prefer a city break complete with Afternoon Tea, book a stay at The Athenaeum. Or for a riverside retreat, look no further than The Runnymede.
