Estate to plate


Our globe-trotting Executive Chef, Stephen Wheeler, has cooked his way across the world, garnering recipes and techniques and bringing them home to The Grove. His travels, especially in Asia, inspired this atmospheric concept. A fusion of culture and provenance, you can expect international dishes with the freshest produce from our very own Jemima’s Kitchen Garden.

The new a la carte style Glasshouse restaurant will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for hotel guests. Our chefs have also crafted a children’s menu, which should please even the fussiest of diners

The Glasshouse is open to non-residents for dinner on Sunday – Thursday and for lunch on Saturday – Sunday, subject to availability and depending on hotel occupancy levels.

Breakfast Menu

Breakfast is available exclusively for hotel guests from 7 – 10am daily, and is priced at £28 per person.

Sample menu

  • The Grove English Breakfast
  • Eggs Benedict, Royal or Florentine
  • Pancakes or waffles, served with garden berries and crème fraiche, Nutella or maple syrup
  • Smoked Kippers with herb buttered sourdough and a poached egg
  • Omelette with a choice of fillings
  • Smoked salmon with scrambled egg on toasted sourdough, served with garden chives
  • Moroccan eggs, spinach, goats cheese, paprika and wild garlic with baked ciabatta
  • Mushrooms on toast, served with a fried duck egg
  • Homemade granola with natural yoghurt, berries and honey
  • Acai Bircher muesli with a seasonal fruit platter
  • Porridge, plain or with poached rhubarb and honeycomb
  • A bowl of fresh berries, picked from Jemima’s Garden

A La Carte Menu

Our a la carte menu is available exclusively for hotel guests from 12.30 – 2pm at weekends and 5.30 – 9pm daily, and is priced at £36 per person for 2 courses, £44 per person for 3 courses.

Sample menu

Starters

  • Summer minestrone with seasonal vegetables from Jemima’s Kitchen Garden
  • 7 year old Iberico ham, Manchego cheese, rosemary and garlic flat bread
  • Dry aged lamb tartare, served with shallots, capers, pickled radicchio, mint and balsamic
  • Asian Salad with Pomelo king prawns, chilli, coconut and lime
  • Hay-smoked salmon, cured in Grove pilsner with celeriac remoulade, capers and pumpernickel
  • Scallops, served in the shells with chorizo, broad beans and marjoram
  • Garden salad with robata-grilled courgettes, asparagus, garden peas, broad beans and organic goats curd and grilled chilli
  • Puff pastry tart filled with vegan cream cheese, garden chard, preserved lemon, butter lettuce salad and chilli

Mains

  • 300g dry aged ribeye steak with a bone marrow bruschetta and caesar salad
  • Gloucester Old Spot pork chop with panzanella dressing
  • Lamb mixed grill – cutlet, Merguez sausage, kofta and scrumpet, served with tender stem broccoli
  • Nettle pasta with slow cooked beef cheek, rosemary and garlic
  • Tuna Nicoise – jersey royals, green beans, cherry tomatoes, olives, capers, mixed lettuce and a soft boiled egg
  • Grilled Swordfish, served with baby spinach, puy lentils and Kalamata olives
  • Walled Garden asparagus and pea risotto, with mascarpone and mint
  • Tandoori cauliflower, served with lentil dahl, catchkumber salad and pomegranate curd 
  • Half a Native Lobster, served with triple cooked chips and Béarnaise sauce (£13 supplement)

For Two

  • Rotisserie poussin and truffle mash potato, served with summer greens and a garden leek cream sauce
  • Plant based platter with tofu, sumac vegetable kebab, bean falafels, flatbread, and tahini dressed salad
  • Whole grilled seabream on the bone (450g-600g), chopped salad and olive tapenade

Available for lunch or dinner, our children’s menu is suitable for little ones under 12 and is priced at £11.50 for 2 courses, £15.50 for 3 courses.
