Organise your time and set out your goals

Before anything else, it would be good to sit down and get organised, making a list of everything you wish to achieve by the end of the year. Perhaps you want to get fit, join a new class, or spend at least 30 minutes outdoors each day. To make this step a little more manageable, why not break it down and set yourself little goals to be achieved by the end of the month. Before you know it, you’ll have ticked off a whole list of new achievements!

Become a spa member

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get fit, then join our gym at Sequoia. In your first session, you’ll be invited to complete a comprehensive health assessment, before devising a fitness plan with one of our experienced personal trainers. You will be able to track your progress with the My Wellness app and benefit from regular check-ins with the team. By joining Sequoia spa as a member, you’ll be signing up to so much more than just a gym membership, however. Our Sequoia spa members have, over the years, developed into a friendly, thriving community of like-minded individuals where everyone is welcome. As well as the opportunity to make new friends, our membership includes an exciting calendar of exclusive members-only events, discounts on spa treatments, dining experiences, golf, activities and rooms at The Grove.

Read our guide to mindfulness

In recent years, the practice of mindfulness has become increasingly popular, and for good reason! It is a great way to reduce anxiety and stress, to help us focus on the present moment and can remind us to be grateful for the life we have.

Practise manifesting at Roxie Nafousi’s wellness retreat

At the end of January we’ll be joining forces with the queen of manifesting and Sunday Times best-selling author of ‘Manifest’, Roxie Nafousi, for the ultimate wellness retreat. From yoga and meditation, to delicious food and an introduction to manifesting – this is one retreat you won’t want to miss! Manifesting, like mindfulness, is a great skill to have, as it encourages positive thinking and a healthy mindset – so what better way to start the New Year than with a shiny new outlook and the skills to live a more fulfilling life?

Connect with nature and the outdoors

Wrap up warm and step outside into the crisp winter air. Being outdoors, particularly in the countryside and woodlands, does wonders for our mental health, so try and spend at least 15 minutes of your day outside. When you’re next staying with us at The Grove, stroll over to Asher’s woodland and discover the winding nature trails that snake through the ancient trees. The winter season provides the most breath-taking scenes so have your camera at the ready!

Connect with others

It’s no secret that we humans are social creatures and thrive off human contact, so give your social life a boost in 2023 and make some new friends – or reconnect with old ones. You could join a class, take up a new hobby or invite some friends out to dinner. We have plenty of restaurants and bars on-site that are the perfect spots for winter catch-ups with friends.

Reset your body and mind this New Year with a relaxing, recuperating overnight stay at The Grove.
