Poetic Justice screening with Yinka Ilori MBE Q&A

Join us for a special evening at Everyman in the Garden as British-Nigerian multi-disciplinary artist and ‘architect of joy’ Yinka Ilori MBE hosts an intimate Q&A exploring the inspiration behind his artwork and the film that follows – Poetic Justice, one of his all-time favourites.

Taking place on Wednesday 6 August, the event is complimentary for hotel residents, or you can book one of our dinner and cinema packages below. The Q&A will begin at 8pm, followed by a screening of Poetic Justice.

Poetic Justice

This year’s cinema is brought to life by Yinka’s bold, vibrant style and storytelling through colour, where he draws on his dual heritage to convey new narratives and bring communities together. His film choice of Poetic Justice is fitting as he reflects “I always find hidden gems and themes within the narrative; themes around Black love, around trust, loyalty”.

He believes “that the film can teach anyone about love, community, joy, about how to deal with grief, and about how to let people in and be open to love – there is something that all of us watching can take away from the film. It’s such an incredible, iconic, timeless film.”
