The Perfect Tablescape

A beautiful Easter table doesn’t need to be over styled. Start with a calm, neutral base such as crisp linen or bare wood. Then add fresh flowers and a little greenery. Add a pop of pastel through napkins or glassware, keep centrepieces low for easy chatting, and mix pretty with practical. The result is effortlessly seasonal and made for lingering.

Bunny Napkins

Bunny-shaped napkins are a simple, speedy way to add a cheerful Easter touch without overwhelming the table. Here’s how to fold your own bunny napkins in just a few easy steps.

  •  Lay a square napkin flat and fold into a triangle.
  • Starting at the long edge, roll the napkin up into a long, neat strip.
  • Fold in half: Bring the two ends together so you have a U shape.
  • Create the ears: Hold the two loose ends upright and cross them once.
  • Tuck one end through the loop to form a knot at the base.
  • Pop it into a glass or place it on the plate and fan out the ends to look like ears.

Natasha’s favourites for an Easter-ready garden

We caught up with Natasha, our Head Gardener, to share which flowers in The Grove’s gardens most signal that Easter has arrived and how you can recreate the same seasonal feel by planting them at home.

“Seeing and smelling the bluebells stretching in a sea of blue always makes me smile, and the scent is wonderful while listening to the busy calls of parent birds in the background. Another guilty pleasure is spotting the fronds of ferns beginning to unfurl – it’s a simple yet magical sign that spring, and Easter, has truly arrived.”

To recreate this spring feeling in your garden, Tash says to “upcycle a large galvanised tub, plant Narcissi ‘Paper Whites’, Muscari ‘Blue magic’ and add some sculptural wood to lay across the tub. Cover the surface with moss, adding in a tall fern, Dryopteris, toward the back and Asplenium scolopendrium at the front.”
