Lynsey Hornsby, Corporate Event Sales Manager in the Library

Hi Lynsey, what is your role at The Grove?

I’m one of the sales managers in our corporate events team. My role is to look after initial enquiries that come from our corporate clients and set up contracts, whether they’re looking to host a small board meeting for five people or a large five-day residential conference. We often meet with clients to show them around the hotel, and this really helps us understand their vision and figure out how we can create an unforgettable experience for them and their delegates.

You worked at The Grove previously before leaving for another job. What attracted you back?

I came for dinner with a friend, which was the first time I had been back since leaving in August 2020. It was a strange feeling being here but not working here. Truthfully, I saw lots of friendly, familiar faces and I felt like I was missing out. Then I reflected on my time working here previously – the things I learnt, the opportunities, the people I got to work with and the friends I had made and realised I wanted to be part of it again!

Can you share a highlight of working at The Grove?

For me, it has to be the NATO summit in 2019. Serving tea to world leaders is not your average day at work! I also enjoy seeing the creativity of our partners when they transform our event spaces for parties and celebrations.

Which space is your favourite and why?

I love the Potting Shed and its beautiful rustic charm. It looks stunning when it is dressed up with wild flowers and foliage and it has a totally different feel compared to our other event spaces.

What do you think are the most attractive qualities of the spaces that we have at The Grove?

I think the key draws for our clients are the natural light, the views and access to the gardens. Each event space is modern in design and can be tailored to the client’s vision and business needs.

What team-building activities does The Grove offer clients?

We offer many different activities here – from yoga, golf and garden tours, to more traditional woodland pursuits like archery and axe-throwing – my personal favourite. We also work with a selection of trusted team-building partners who can create an action-packed itinerary of unique activities for your group.

Qubed at The Grid

If you could invite anyone, who would you ask to join you for a drink at The Glasshouse Bar?

I’d ask Micky Flanagan. As a comedian he’d have lots of brilliant stories to share which would make for an entertaining evening!
