Tom Minshull is our Head PGA Golf Professional here at The Grove’s prestigious golf course in Hertfordshire. Tom is passionate about creating an informative and enjoyable learning environment for golfers of all levels – from those taking their first steps in the game to elite amateurs and professionals. Take a look at the short videos below where, he introduces you to four of his favourite game improvement tips.

1. The Greenside Chip

Tom’s played a great shot into the 18th green, but his ball has collected in one of The Grove’s infamous run-off areas. Here he shows how to pitch it back up the green to give yourself a chance of par.

2. The Fairway Bunker Shot

One of the most feared shots for the amateur player, Tom shows you how to play the long bunker shot into a distant green. Follow his advice and get yourself out of trouble and onto the putting surface every time.

3. The ‘left-handed’ Pitch

We’ve all been here. Our ball has nestled up against a tree and there is no room to make a swing. Tom has a cunning little trick to help you out.

4. Sloping Fairway Lie

You’ve hit a great drive down the fairway but you are left with a tricky lie that needs careful consideration of you are to hit the green in two, and give yourself a birdie chance. Tom shows you the way, on The Grove’s 2nd Hole.
