Tom’s played a great shot into the 18th green, but his ball has collected in one of The Grove’s infamous run-off areas. Here he shows how to pitch it back up the green to give yourself a chance of par.
One of the most feared shots for the amateur player, Tom shows you how to play the long bunker shot into a distant green. Follow his advice and get yourself out of trouble and onto the putting surface every time.
We’ve all been here. Our ball has nestled up against a tree and there is no room to make a swing. Tom has a cunning little trick to help you out.
You’ve hit a great drive down the fairway but you are left with a tricky lie that needs careful consideration of you are to hit the green in two, and give yourself a birdie chance. Tom shows you the way, on The Grove’s 2nd Hole.

More From Golf
Tiger Woods’ historic win at The Masters on Sunday brought back wonderful memories of when The Grove was fortunate enough to have him compete on our championship golf course and, like at Augusta, he finished a champion.
Tom leads our team of PGA Golf Professionals at The Grove. We caught up with him as he came off the course and quizzed him about why he loves the game, his own story, what it’s like behind the scenes of The Open and his plans for The Grove. If you’re considering lessons to improve your game, read his last answer… there’s one gentleman at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland who has never looked back.
Our Golf Course and Estates Manager, Phill Chiverton, lifts the lid on the incredible work that’s been taking place on our wonderful golf course. We caught up with him recently to find out more about the work that he and his team have been working on this year involving a renovation project that has seen the reinvigoration of all 90 bunkers.
