Simple food served to perfection
The Stables is all about simple food served to perfection; succulent steaks, delicious pies – all home-cooked and wonderfully comforting. Set in the estate’s original stable block, the restaurant has an unstuffy, but decidedly country chic atmosphere. Tables for groups of eight or more can choose from our large table menu, with delicious platters of sharing food served in the centre of the table, encouraging conversation – and an experienced shared.

You'll like the views too, over the golf course or The Stables courtyard. With a rustic New England design, this feels entirely different from Colette's and The Glasshouse, giving you a wide choice of venues to meet and eat.
Children's dining policy
Children aged 12 years and under may choose from The Stables' children's menu, or choose from the main a la carte menu. Children 2 years and under dine free of charge when dining with a full paying adult.
Groups of upto 11 are welcome to order on the day. Groups 12 or more will need to pre-order. Dining reservations can be made from the first day of each month for the current month and the following two months e.g. a reservation for August can be made from 1 June. We will endeavour to meet all your requests, however please note these are subject to availability

Claire has worked with The Grove Hotel for 12 years, and is a great asset to The Stables team as Restaurant Manager. Her career highlight has been flying over to Sri Lanka for the Tea Masters Gold training, which allowed Claire to experience the complete production and processing of our teas, including picking and tasting them (pictured). Besides this, Claire believes with a positive attitude and enthusiasm you can achieve anything, and is particularly passionate about The Grove because of how much they have invested in her progression along with our core values, and being a family-run business.
Favourite thing about the Stables: Every corner is different. It is homely and comforting, child-friendly yet you can also host a business lunch. You also have brilliant views over the putting green and golf course.
Claire’s current dish of the month: Breast of duck with braised cabbage.
- Each booking is based on a two hour sitting from time of reservation.
- Multiple bookings using the same name and/or contact information, which are deemed to be related may be cancelled.

- The Terrace is open during the summer months, subject to weather. Tables on the terrace cannot be reserved and are subject to availability on arrival.
