Damian Barr’s Literary Salon
26 November, 2021 / Leisure
In association with Damian Barr’s Literary Salon, The Grove presents: Damian Barr In Conversation with David Nicholls
The Literary Salon offers aspiring and professional readers and writers the opportunity to connect through a shared love for literary texts and engage with some of the world’s most loved authors.
- From 18.15 – 19.00, enjoy reception drinks and canapes in the Cedar Suite.
You’ll taste some of The Glasshouse Bar’s favourite cocktails where our garden-to-glass ethos comes alive using ingredients straight from our very own Jemima’s Kitchen Garden. Our favourite, the Chamomile Collins, contains no less than 22 hand-foraged botanicals. Canapes also champion sustainable eating with estate-to-plate dishes such as Jemima’s Kitchen Garden Tarts, Garden Beetroot Maroons and Foraged Mushroom Tacos.
- At 19.00 – 20.00 take your seat for a Damian Barr’s Literary Salon with guest David Nicholls.
Damian Barr and award-winning writer, David Nicholls, will discuss their personal stories as successful writers and ideas around key texts, followed by an informative Q&A. There will also be an exclusive reading of renowned novel Sweet Sorrow from Nicholls himself and you will have the opportunity to receive a personal signed book.
- Finish the evening with a drop-in bibliotherapy session in The Library with esteemed bibliotherapist and author of The Novel Cure, Ella Berthoud, from 21.15 – 23.00.
