What’s on at The Grove this Christmas… and beyond
29 October 2021 / What To Do /
‘Tis the season to wrap up warm, head outside into the crisp winter air and get involved in all the festive celebrations. At The Grove we’ve got our annual Christmas Quiz Night and Sequoia and Golf Christmas Shopping Days, whilst further afield you can cast a spell at Hogwarts in the Snow, drink mulled wine at Winter Wonderland and watch a stunning performance of The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House. So, find a cosy spot and have a little read through our guide of things to do in the run up to Christmas.
1. Sequoia Christmas Shopping Day
On Thursday 25 November between 9am and 6pm, have your Christmas stockings ready to fill with the most luxurious beauty and skincare products from our ranges at Sequoia: ESPA, Oskia, Natura Bisse and Jessica. There will be a whole host of offers and gifts with purchases available on the day, and it wouldn’t truly be a festive affair without a complimentary glass of mulled wine upon arrival!
2. Golf Christmas Shopping Day
Also on Thursday 25 November between 9am and 6pm, head over to the Golf Shop for our first ever Christmas Shopping Day. The event is open to everyone, whether you’re a golf fanatic or buying for one. Either way, head on down and receive a complimentary glass of Prosecco as you browse for the perfect gift. There will be a whole range of offers, including 10% off shop-wide. Save the date!
3. Hogwarts in the Snow at the Warner Bros Studio Tour
There are plenty of things to do in Hertfordshire at Christmas. At Hogwarts, things are looking particularly festive, with wreaths, garlands and trees topped with witches on miniature broomsticks dotted around the Great Hall, and a very realistic prop version of a mouth-watering Christmas feast set up along the dining table. The Hogwarts in the Snow exhibition at the Warner Bros Studio Tour is the ultimate place to celebrate the upcoming festivities as a Harry Potter fan, and, new for 2021, visitors can explore the Forbidden Forest and Diagon Alley which lies under a magical blanket of snow. This festive feature (running from Saturday 13 November – Sunday 16 January 2022) is always popular with witches and wizards, so we highly recommend you pre-book early to avoid disappointment.
4. Christmas at Waddesdon
Another of our favourite Christmas days out in Hertfordshire, from 13 November – 23 December and 27 December – 3 January, head over to Waddesdon House in Aylesbury to experience the ultimate festive celebration. With a magical Winter Light display illuminating the Manor and gardens and a charmingly festive Christmas Market offering handmade Christmas decorations, tempting treats and unique gifts, this is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with the whole family.
5. Natural History Museum Ice Rink
The Ice Rink at the Natural History Museum in London is a Christmas tradition that is a must each year. From 22 October until 16 January, experience the magical ice rink that sits against the backdrop of the Waterhouse building and is surrounded by a scattering of frost-covered trees laden with glittering fairy lights. As you skate around the rink with friends or family, soak up the sweet smell of hot chocolate and mulled wine and make the most of the festive ambiance, as after an impressive 16 years, this will be the final year of the event. (We know, we’re heart-broken too.)
