Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal tying of the knot was undoubtedly the wedding of 2018. Following which, now more than ever, we’re seeing heaps of creative wedding ideas that will ensure your special day stands out. We spoke to our resident florist extraordinaire, Amie Bone, to find out what’s in store for 2019 weddings. Read on for Amie’s tips to ensure you have a picture-perfect celebration.
Expect to see lots of foliage
Lush greenery as well as plenty of textures within a bouquet is set to be a big trend this year. Wall displays, floral arches and flower arrangements for both the aisle and tables are a big hit. Boho-inspired floral crowns replace traditional veils, which are growing in popularity in the wake of the royal wedding.
Colour of the year
Expect to see more blush, as well as cream and white, which are feminine tones that have always been a popular choice for weddings. More and more bridesmaids will be seen in either white or cream this year, which is set to be a continued trend. For a more contemporary look, Amie suggests incorporating touches of coral.
Bring the outdoors inside
The Grove offers 300 acres of stunning Hertfordshire countryside, providing the perfect backdrop to your dream wedding ceremony. Amie and her team can create designs that compliment and match the gardens and outdoor space available to the wedding guests. But what if the weather threatens the chance of an outdoor ceremony? Not to worry, this year’s trend brings the outdoors in, and with the team onsite to style and dress the event spaces, you can still enjoy the beauty of the countryside inside.
Pinterest and Instagram
Both platforms are still major players in providing inspiration – Amie and her team often receive requests from clients that have ‘Pinterested’ their entire wedding look and feel. Brides often want their guests to take pictures on their phones, so every little detail needs to be camera-ready. Amie and her team like to create new trends, rather than following them, and excel at devising creative concepts that are bespoke to the bride and groom in question.
