Retreats for two: Five ideas for a luxury couples’ getaway
1 August 2018 / What To Do /
Whether you’re a couple who love nothing more than the great outdoors, or the type who’d prefer to cosy up together in a spa, we have a few ideas for you. However you enjoy spending your time together, let us inspire you with our couples’ retreat suggestions for when you’re looking to escape.
Those in need of some R&R
Switch off, indulge in a little relaxation and while away the afternoon together in our Sequoia Spa. The tranquil surroundings are a great way to reconnect and leave behind the hustle and bustle of every day life. The Sunday Hideaway package includes a spa treatment (or round of Twilight golf, if you’d prefer) with an overnight stay and breakfast – perfect for those who want to unwind in each others’ company.
The active couple
Love the great outdoors? If you enjoy being active together, then cycling or hiking through the woods could be just the ticket. Whether it’s a summery bike ride among the luscious green fauna, or an autumnal romantic walk, it’s a year-round favourite and a great way to get back to nature.
Our woodland trails were created by the Wildlife Trust, and can be enjoyed on foot, bike or even Segway. We’d recommend the Bed and Breakfast package for a countryside escape.
If you like to bond over an indulgent meal and a glass or two of wine – a foodie break will be your cup of tea. Let someone else worry about the washing up, and enjoy a delicious dinner before retreating to the plush surroundings of your bedroom. Our Friday Retr-eat includes dinner at The Glasshouse, and is great option for those who want to end their week on a high.
The fantasy literature fans
If you have a shared love for all things magical, we’d recommend a trip to the nearby Warner Bros. Studio Tour to follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter. Take a break from the everyday reality and lose yourself together in the fantasy world. Our Magical Break at The Grove package includes tickets to the attraction (subject to availability), plus an overnight stay.
Some of us simply enjoy time with each other on the fairway, enjoying a spot of golf while taking in the verdant countryside. The Grove is home to a championship course, so makes a great destination for those who like to practise their game together. The Golf Escape includes an overnight stay, a round of golf for two and a refuelling three-course dinner.
