2019: New Year’s Resolutions

New year, new beginnings! So, with this in mind, we’ve set ourselves some fresh new goals for 2019 to benefit everyone – from our staff, to guests and the wider community. To help do our bit in making a difference, here are four resolutions that we’ll be implementing and sticking to this year.
Wellness for Cancer
We will be donating 10% of revenue from our Be Nurtured treatments to the Youth Cancer Trust, a charity based in Bournemouth providing support and free, activity based holidays for young people aged 14 to 30 living with cancer or any malignant disease from anywhere in the UK. This follows the introduction of our Be Nurtured treatments in October last year which were created in partnership with Wellness for Cancer and ESPA. These deliver personalised spa treatment experiences for those living and healing from cancer.
Electrify Watford Campaign
We will be a trailblazer for the Electrify Watford Campaign. This is an exciting campaign aimed at improving the quality of the air that our community breathes. Electric vehicles play a vital role in contributing to the reduction of toxic fumes emitted into the atmosphere and we will be working in partnership with Mealings Taxis (the first Electric taxi in Watford), to ensure we do our bit by enabling our guests and visitors to travel green and support this positive, environmental initiative.
Elimination of Paper
We are continuing our move toward eliminating the use of paper at The Grove, through digitising our daily processes. We will be moving our maintenance and housekeeping operations to a computerised system, which will mean that the need for paper will be eliminated as all daily operations and communications would be used via mobile or desktop. We are also looking to digitise other departments within the hotel, later in the year.
Room to Reward
We are continuing our partnership with Room to Reward, an initiative that gives respite to men and women who do so much for their communities and provide care for those in need. Our ongoing partnership is a symbol of our gratitude to these people who dedicate each and every day to support those who need it most.
