How to create a spa experience at home
Of course, we are extremely disappointed to have had to close the doors at Sequoia spa for a month, however, to ensure you are feeling your best at home, our Head Therapist, Stephanie, explains how to recreate Sequoia from the comfort of your home. Follow her easy but satisfying step-by-step guide for carrying out your own ESPA facial and body treatments.
Facial from home
Step 1: Use a warm, damp pair of mitts or flannel, remove all make up with a Hydrating Cleansing Milk or Balancing Foam Cleanser. Cleanse using upwards circular motions from your chest, up to your neck and face.
Step 2: Mix a small amount of water with ESPA’s Refining Skin Polish and apply all over, exfoliating the skin using upwards circles, particularly focusing on any dry areas. Use a warm damp pair of mitts or flannel to remove all of the scrub, this only needs to be done once a week.
Step 3: Apply Hydrating Floral Spa Fresh or Balancing Herbal Spa Fresh to dry cotton pads and wipe all over your face. This will balance the pH of your skin.
Step 4: Next you’ll need ESPA’s Optimal Skin ProSerum. Using 1 full pipette, warm the oil in your hands, take a deep breathe in to relax the mind and envision you are back in the spa. Then massage the oil into the skin using a good pressure with upwards strokes and circles to defy gravity and boost youthfulness.
Step 5: Choose either the Overnight Hydration Therapy Mask or Essential Cleansing Mask, both are fabulous! Apply a thin layer all over the face and let that work its magic for a good 15 minutes. Take some time to relax with some deep breathes, practice mindfulness and think through all the things you are grateful for. Then use a warm, damp pair of mitts or a flannel to remove the mask.
Step 6: Repeat Step 3 to refresh the whole face.
Step 7: To finish, choose your favourite eye serum and face serum followed by eye cream and face cream, making large circles around the eyes being careful to avoid the eye lids.
Body Scrub From Home
Step 1: Depending on the results you want, choose either ESPA’s Detoxifying, Invigorating or Relaxing Salt & Oil Body Scrub. Dampen your skin in the shower and then, using a teaspoon amount per limb, scrub from your toes up to your shoulders using friction movements, working every inch of your body. Be sure to focus on any dry or rough patches. Then shower off the scrub, being careful not to slip on the oil.
Step 2: Pat dry your skin and take a deep breath in to relax the mind and envision you are back in the spa. Then apply your favourite ESPA body oil, massaging it into the skin using a good pressure and try to release any tension you may feel.
Step 3: Take some time to relax with some deep breathes, practice mindfulness and gratitude, thinking of all the things you are grateful for.
