An Alfresco Summer
28 June 2018 / Food /
If you love nothing more than an alfresco bite to eat, or a chilled glass of rosé as the sun sets on a glorious day, then this summer at The Grove will be right up your street.
There will be four unique bars and restaurants popping up around our grounds from this July – from the rustic Potting Shed restaurant in the Walled Garden, which is already proving popular, to the chic Seafood and Ayala Brut Nature Bar on The Glasshouse’s terrace.
All our pop-ups are brand new for this year, so take a look and start planning your summer getaway.
Potting Shed at The Grove
The Potting Shed is all about fresh produce, simple cooking and dishes made for sharing with friends and family. This one isn’t technically alfresco, but we invite you to enjoy a pre-dinner drink in our Kitchen Garden, where 80% of the menu’s fruit, vegetables and herbs are sourced.
Set within the restored Victorian glasshouse, the décor features an abundance of flowers and foliage as we bring the outdoors inside. Expect a range of seasonal, mouth-watering dishes including large flatbreads, succulent tomahawk steaks, and fresh grilled lobster.
You’ll find the Potting Shed in our beautiful Walled Garden, from 13 July to 2 September from Wednesday – Sunday. It’s one not to be missed.
Champagne Ayala Blanc des Blancs
The Champagne Ayala Blanc de Blancs Bar will complement the Potting Shed in the Walled Garden. We’d recommend paying a visit shortly before your Potting Shed reservation – it’s a great opportunity to take a look around the Kitchen Garden, chilled glass of bubbles in hand, to see first-hand where your dinner will be coming from.
The bar will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 14 July until 2 September, and is available to guests who are dining at the Potting Shed or staying with us.
Seafood and Ayala Brut Nature Bar
From hand-picked Dorset crab crostini to buttermilk-marinated crispy Bay-spiced squid, this pop-up is a refreshing option for those who love the flavours of the sea.
The romantic Seafood and Ayala Brut Nature Bar will be situated on The Glasshouse’s terrace and served from the Bugbar – a unique, chic and bespoke VW camper van conversion. There will be a selection of mouth-watering seafood platters* alongside Ayala’s world-renowned Champagne. This particular variety is a dry and elegant Champagne, made with no added sugar.
It will be open between 4pm and 6pm every day, from 13 July – 2 September, and is open to non-residents too – perfect for post-work drinks with a twist.
*Available from 20 July onwards
AIX Rosé Bar
Bringing a taste of Provence to The Grove, the AIX Rosé Bar will be located on the beach within the Walled Garden. This is one for those who enjoy a refreshing lunchtime poolside tipple, as it’s open in the afternoon throughout the summer months.
