The fresher, cooler seasons of autumn, winter and spring are perfect for being active outside. At The Grove there are over 300 acres of woodland, countryside and canal paths to explore by foot or bike. You’ll get a double endorphin hit from exercising and enjoying stunning natural beauty, so it’s an all-round brilliant way to de-stress and get fit.
To help you make the most of the great outdoors, our expert team at Sequoia spa are leading a range of groups to suit all levels of fitness – and some are perfect for bringing your four-legged friends, too! You’re welcome to join in whether you’re staying for business or leisure, or as a member of Sequoia spa. To book your spot, just ask in person at spa reception or call the gym team on 01923 296123.
Corporate groups staying with us from Meetings & Events can also set up a bespoke session with our fitness experts to add into the schedule, including longer canal-side runs and High Intensity Interval Training outdoors. The whole delegation can workout and clear the mind before settling down to a day’s work.
MOUNTAIN BIKES
Let’s face it – a thrilling ride on a mountain bike along our woodland trails in fresh air beats busy roads or stationary bikes any day. An invigorating 5k cycle through the woods, canal paths and estate will take you 30-45 minutes. To borrow one of our mountain bikes and helmets, head over to the Activities Centre.
And if you want some company, why not come along to one of our mountain biking classes? They’re available after mid October, twice a week.

OUTDOOR FITNESS SESSIONS
The outdoors at The Grove is a whole world to be explored and enjoyed. Join our trainer for a varied weekly fitness session all outdoors. It may be a power walk one week, a woodland circuit another… come along for a surprise way to get fit while enjoying our gorgeous countryside. Suitable for all fitness levels.

RUN CLUB
It can be easier to stay motivated when you run with a group. Our fitness team lead a 45/60-minute run club every week involving a quick warm up, run, then cool down. Everyone is welcome at every stage of fitness and the team is there to coach as needed. It takes place every week from mid October throughout autumn and winter.

WALKING GROUP (DOG FRIENDLY)!
Get your daily steps up, stay active and feel great. Walking around our beautiful estate means you can unwind while exercising and enjoy the company – and that includes the local wildlife!

While you’re away from home you can still keep up your fitness routine at The Grove. We have everything you need, indoors and out. There are a selection of fitness classes, a swimming pool and a fully-equipped gym with the latest Technogym kit. Just bring your gym wear and call us for more information if you need it.
