Let’s face it, Christmas is not your waistline’s friend. Wall to wall mince pies, six-course dinners, unhealthy amounts of booze (it’s the booze that does it), and not to mention all that lazing around. No wonder January is spent jogging around the park, abstaining from any fun. Well here’s an idea: we’ve created a 12-day fitness plan that should allow you to eat and drink exactly what you like.

Now, before you start making excuses, fear not, this routine starts easy and builds up over the course of the 12 days. There’s progressive overload, meaning as your muscles and lungs learn to cope with the level, it gets harder, to keep pushing you. By practicing the same movement you’ll become more coordinated and stronger in these movements over time. It’s easy to do at home with no equipment and only lasts a few minutes. It will help to improve your lower- and upper-body strength and endurance, aerobic capacity, and core strength.

So play your cards right, and come January, you’ll be looking even better than you are now. Good luck!

Day 12 squats, 3 press ups, 10 seconds jumping jacks, 10 second plank.
Day 24 squats, 4 press ups, 10 seconds jumping jacks, 10 second plank.
Day 36 squats, 5 press ups, 20 seconds jumping jacks, 10 second plank.
Day 48 squats, 6 press ups, 20 seconds jumping jacks, 10 second plank.
