The Grove golf course

course map

The 7,152 yard course layout was designed by the distinguished American architect Kyle Philips who has created courses in more than 20 countries and combines the strategy of the modern game with the great traditions of British golf course architecture. Construction of the 18 hole layout which follows a majestic route over the rolling tree lined landscape, commenced in 2000 and work was completed in the summer of 2002. A further year along, a seeding and 'grow in' programme ensured that when the course opened in September 2003 it was in immaculate condition from tee to green. With four sets of expansive tees and fully integrated cart paths, which are set into the landscape, visitors can select the length of the course to suit their ability.

In 2006, The Grove staged the World Golf Championship, attracting the world's leading golfers and more than 100,000 visitors over the four day event. World No. 1 Tiger Woods won the championship by a record eight shots for his sixth successive strokeplay title.

The Grove celebrates it's fifth anniversary this season and since opening has been ranked in Golf World's Top 100 Courses in the UK and achieved a consistently high rating in the prestigious Peugeot Golf Guide, which judges the leading courses in Europe.
